Visitor South Lot Closing For Renovations Oct. 1 to 12
Parking improvements part of hospital’s new building construction
LIVONIA, MI – St. Mary Mercy Hospital would like to ease the visit of people coming to the hospital by informing them of temporary parking changes occurring in early October.
The Visitor South Lot at St. Mary Mercy Hospital will temporarily close for renovations starting Monday, October 1 through Friday, October 12.
During this time, visitors and patients are to park in the far South Parking Lot where a shuttle service will take them to and from the hospital south entrance. Please see map illustration of visitor parking.
The shuttle service will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Hospital staff will be at the south entrance to coordinate and assist with patient shuttle services for early morning (from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.) and evening (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) Monday through Friday. At least one of the transportation shuttles will be wheelchair-accessible.
Patients and visitors coming to the hospital should use the shuttle service for the quickest and safest arrival to the south entrance. For safety and to lessen traffic congestion, we are limiting vehicular traffic in the south entrance only to the shuttle service or family members/ friends picking up a discharged patient from an outpatient surgery/ procedure.
Family/friends can drive up to the hospital south entrance to pick you up after discharge. We ask these visitors not to park in the driveway leading up to the south entrance. Shuttles will be using this route to get to and from the far South Parking Lot.
Handicap parking spaces by the south entrance will be available during the renovation. Valet services will not be available during the renovation to reduce traffic congestion. The shuttle service is free and replaces the valet service during this time.
The renovations to the Visitor South Parking Lot include new sidewalks, relocation of light poles, and more parking spaces. For more information about the temporary Visitor South Lot parking closure,
