St. Mary Mercy Livonia Hosts AARP Smart Driver Course
St. Mary Mercy Hospital, Livonia, and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) will offer a two-day program, “AARP Smart Driving,” on Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary Mercy Hospital, in Classroom 11. Registration and attendance at both sessions are required. No walk-ins please!
The AARP Smart Driving Program is an eight-hour classroom refresher course for experienced motorists age 50 and older. Participants will learn how to sharpen their driving skills, and develop strategies for adjusting to age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time. They will also learn about the effects of medications on driving performance, learn car safety, maintenance of the vehicle, and ways to prevent accidents.
Registration is required. There is $15 fee for AARP members and a $20 a fee for non-members payable to AARP.
