St. Mary Mercy Opens Retail Stores and Renovated North Entrance
St. Mary Mercy celebrated the opening of three new retail stores inside the hospital and the reopening of its renovated North Entrance on Wednesday, July 16.
The retail space is located in the corridor between the hospital's North and South Lobbies and includes the all-new Joe's Java, Gift Shop and Binson's Home Health Care Supplies. These stores were chosen with the convenience of the hospital's patients, visitors and staff in mind.
Joe's Java offers fresh pastries, breakfast items, made-to-order coffee and espresso drinks, fruit smoothies and serves its own Michigan blend of Paramount Coffee.
The new, expanded Gift Shop offers specialty merchandise for unique gifts as well as items found in traditional gift shops including flowers, cards, stuffed animals and baby gifts. A variety of grab-and-go food and drink items will also be available. The new space also includes a retail pharmacy that will open in the fall.
Binson's Home Health Care Centers brings retail items patients being discharged would have to make an extra stop on the way home to purchase available where they need them. Offering include blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, pill cutters and crushers, bed rails, bath sponges, cast covers, raised toilet seats and more.
North Entrance doors re-open after renovation
After almost seven months of being closed, the North Entrance to the hospital is now open again for use. The renovation of the entrance included removing the existing canopy and rebuilding it to extend over the entire patient drop-off area. The new canopy includes additional lighting, heating and identification signs to ensure patient and visitor safety. The design of the North Entrance matches the look of the new Emergency Entrance at the South Wing and provides a contemporary update to the hospital's exterior.
