Event to Feature Detroit Native’s Fashions;

Emcee to Be Jon Jordan, Local 4 Style Editor

Pontiac, Mich.—St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) will have a benefit for its planned Cancer Resource and Support Center, featuring Detroit-born, New York fashion designer Tracy Reese, at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at The Townsend Hotel, 100 Townsend St., Birmingham.

The intimate event, entitled “An Evening with Tracy Reese,” will feature a reception, simple supper, program and informal modeling of the Detroit-born, New York designer’s fashions by local community members.   Celebrity emcee will be Jon Jordan, Local 4 Style Editor.

SJMO’s planned Cancer Resource and Support Center will be located in the Alice Gustafson Center on the hospital campus in Pontiac.  It will serve as a comfortable, “one-stop shop” for information and education on cancer topics, social support and counseling, complementary therapies and classes, and provide access to cancer experts and community resources.  The focus will be on helping to improve the knowledge and quality of life of patients with cancer, along with addressing patients’ and family members’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Cancer Care at SJMO offers a continuum of advanced cancer treatment, from acute inpatient care to outpatient services, cutting-edge diagnostics and surgical options, access to the latest clinical trials and award-winning palliative care. SJMO is a member of the Mercy Cancer Network, one of Michigan’s largest cancer networks offering the latest in cancer diagnosis, clinical research trials and therapeutic technology.

Jon Jordan has been reporting for WDIV for more than a decade.  He has reported from The Golden Globe Awards and London about the royal family. He has hosted CBS Detroit’s “Eye on Style” and The Saks Fifth Avenue Magic Makeover in multiple markets.  Hour Detroit readers voted him “Style Icon” and Victoria’s Secret named him one of “The Sexiest Broadcasters” in the U.S.  He has done interviews with many celebrity stylemakers, including movie starts, fashion designers and commentators and movie and TV personalities.

He is a well-known makeup, hair and wardrobe stylist whose clients have included politicians, models, TV stars and news anchors, and a member of the British royal family.
