Cancer Survivors to Be Feted at ‘80s-Themed Party
Pontiac, Mich.-St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) will host a party for its cancer survivors on National Cancer Survivors Day, Sunday, June 5. The free event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lafayette Grande, 1 Lafayette St., Pontiac. Cancer "survivors" are considered to be anyone living with a history of cancer-from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life.
The celebration is open to anyone who has received cancer treatment at St. Joe's. Family members also are invited.
The party will feature a "1980s" theme. Those attending may come dressed as they might have in the 1980s-with big hair, huge shoulder pads, neon colors, etc. A luncheon and entertainment will be part of the day.
