St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Urgent Care-Waterford Opens In New Location March 18 

Move Will Take Place March 15-17

Pontiac, Mich .—St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) Urgent Care-Waterford will open in its new location at 5210 Highland Road, Suite 101, Waterford, at 7 a.m. Monday, March 18.

The new location is a half mile east of the Urgent Care's present location at 5800 Highland Road. That location will close at 3 p.m. Friday, March 15 for the move. Patients will be directed to SJMO Urgent Care-White Lake, 320 Town Center Blvd., White Lake, during the move.

The telephone number— 248-673-2474 —and the same staff will remain the same.

In addition, St. Joe's lab, general radiology and occupational medicine services also will move to the new location. The SJMO Waterford Internal Medicine practice is on the second floor of the same building and Waterford Ambulatory Surgery is on the same campus.

“The new location will provide better patient access and be a more visible location,” says Jack Weiner, SJMO President and CEO. “The new location and more efficient design will allow for even more growth.”

Urgent Care-Waterford is one of four urgent care centers SJMO offers in convenient locations throughout Oakland County. All are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week and all urgent care physicians are board-certified in family medicine. The other urgent care locations include:

  • SJMO urgent care centers offer treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, including:
  • Minor asthma-related symptoms
  • Bronchitis
  • Minor cuts and animal bites
  • Broken bones or sprains
  • Skin rashes, sunburns and minor burns
  • Fever
  • Upper respiratory and sinus infections
  • Illness with nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Eye infections, pink eye or sties
  • Bladder infections
  • Skin infections (such as impetigo, cold sores or athlete's foot)

Additionally, St. Joe's urgent cares offer routine medical care and testing such as school and sports physicals, pregnancy testing and vaccinations (such as flu shots). A community open house is scheduled for early May.
