Innovative Robotic Knee Surgery Seminar Featuring Gerald Jerry, MD, Planned
Port Huron, Mi…St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron will hold a FREE public information seminar on Thursday, September 23, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in Macomb Township exploring the advanced benefits of a new minimally invasive robotic knee resurfacing procedure now offered exclusively at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron. Gerald Jerry, MD, of the Bone & Joint Institute, PC, will provide the medical presentation. Free hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron is the first hospital in region, and only the second in the state of Michigan, to perform MAKOplasty®, a new minimally invasive robotic partial knee resurfacing procedure used to treat early to mid-stage osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee. MAKOplasty®, powered by the RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic system, offers a more precise and consistent result for partial knee resurfacing and is less invasive than its total knee replacement alternative. Featured medical speaker, Gerald Jerry, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in the management of arthritis, as well as hip, shoulder, and knee replacement. Dr. Jerry has been in private practice in Port Huron for more than 20 years. Dr. Jerry is one of a total of 10 surgeons performing the new surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron.
