St. Joseph Mercy Diabetes Center Hosts 19th Annual Educational Seminar
Port Huron, MI…St. Joseph Mercy’s Diabetes Center and Education Department is pleased to host the 2010 community education event, “Diabetes Management: How Am I Doing?” This event is open to all individuals living with diabetes, who would like more in-depth information regarding diabetes self-management and changing behaviors to help manage diabetes.
This year’s premier adult diabetes education program will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the St. Joseph Mercy Baggot Street Café (cafeteria). The event will include interactive presentations by guest speakers: Sushma Reddy, MD, Endocrinologist; Kevin Johnson, MD, Ophthalmologist; Kevin Townsend, RPh, Pharmacist; Dawn Lambrecht, MD, Family Practice; Gary Hosey, DPM, Podiatrist; Sue Smith, LPN, Fitness Specialist, YMCA Body Recall; and – back by popular demand – Mr. Sweet (Jeff Hoomaian) who will return to discuss his progress as he continues down the road of diabetes self-management.
Presented by St. Joseph Mercy’s highly-skilled diabetes educators, the program will explore key diabetes information and provide education to successfully manage diabetes. The cost of the event is $10 per person, and will include continental breakfast, lunch, a free gift, the presentation, and informational and educational displays from local diabetes vendors.
