MERCY JOINT AND ORTHOPEDICS CENTER HOSTS AN ACHY-BREAKY JOINT EFFORT
Port Huron, MI...St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and the Mercy Joint and Orthopedics Center is pleased to host a community education event, titled: "Achy-Breaky Joint Effort". The presentation is designed to offer community residents information about issues that effect the joints, including hips, knees and shoulders with a special presentation on sports medicine and treatment options for the shoulder, and a special guest appearance by Todd Murphy, MD, of Orthopedic Associates, PC.
"Oftentimes patients wonder about the aches and pains of their joints and question whether a joint replacement is in order or if there are better alternatives available for controlling pain," comments Mary Jo West, RN, Director of the Mercy Joint and Orthopedics Center. "This informational program is designed to provide some basic information and introduce individuals to the concepts of joint replacement. It is not intended to replace the advice of their physicians, but to provide general, overall education."
The event will be held Tuesday, July 26, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, located at 2601 Electric Avenue, Port Huron, MI. With refreshments, including hors d'oeuvres, the event is free to the public.
