Port Huron, MI…St. Joseph Mercy’s Diabetes Center and Education Department is pleased to host the 2011 community education event, “Diabetes… Know Your Champion!” This event is open to all individuals living with diabetes, who would like more in-depth information regarding diabetes self-management and changing behaviors to help manage diabetes.
This year’s premier adult diabetes education program will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the St. Joseph Mercy Baggot Street Café (cafeteria). The event will include interactive presentations by guest speakers: Robert Camara, DO, Family Practice; Paula Carnaghi, RPh, Pharmacist; Alan Kott, “Champion” Sanofi Aventis; Jeff Hoomaian, “Mr. Sweet”, Solara Medical Supplies; and Sue Smith, LPN, Fitness Specialist, YMCA.
Presented by St. Joseph Mercy’s highly-skilled diabetes educators, the program will explore key diabetes information and provide education to successfully manage diabetes. The cost of the event is $10 per person and will include continental breakfast, lunch, a free gift, the presentation, and informational and educational displays from local diabetes vendors.
