SEMINAR, FEATURING EDWARD NEBEL, MD

Advanced robotic orthopedic surgery services available for both partial knee resurfacing and total hip replacement.

Algonac, Mi…St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron will hold a FREE seminar on Tuesday, February 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in Algonac exploring the advanced benefits of minimally invasive partial knee resurfacing and total hip replacement procedures offered exclusively at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron. Edward Nebel, MD, of the Nebel Orthopedic Center, PC, will provide the medical presentation. Free hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

Leading the area in robotic surgical services, St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron is the first hospital in region, and the second in the state of Michigan to perform MAKOplasty®, a minimally invasive robotic partial knee resurfacing procedure used to treat early to mid-stage osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee. St. Joseph Mercy is also the first hospital in the state of Michigan to launch MAKOplasty® robotic assisted total hip replacement surgery, designed to treat patients with Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD).

MAKOplasty®, powered by the RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic system, provides the region's only extensive surgeon assisted robotic surgery programs. Featured medical speaker, Edward Nebel, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, who has been practicing in Port Huron since 1976. Dr. Nebel's practice concentrates on arthroscopic knee surgeries, as well as partial and total knee and hip replacements with greater than 300 cases performed each year. Dr. Nebel has performed more than 100 partial knee resurfacing procedures, and is one of a total of nine surgeons performing the robotic partial knee resurfacing, and one of four performing the new robotic total hip surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron.
