2012 VINEYARDS OF THE WORLD SUCCESS BENEFITS PEOPLES' CLINIC FOR BETTER HEALTH

Kimball Township, MI… The St. Joseph Mercy Foundation is pleased to announce that the tenth annual premiere community fundraiser “Vineyards of the World” wine tasting event to benefit the Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health was held Friday, February 24, 2012. Raising more than $54,000, funds will be used to support the Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health which is cosponsored by St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron and the St. Clair County Medical Society. The clinic is funded in part by the United Way of St. Clair County. The tenth annual Vineyards of the World event was co-hosted by the St. Joseph Mercy Foundation and Wright & Filippis.

Below: Daniel Shogren, DO, St. Joseph Mercy Chief of Staff; Geeta Dalal, Kanu Dalal, MD, and Jennifer Rise, DO, joined together to support the Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health at Fore Lakes Golf Club, in Kimball Township in late February 2012. More than 300 local residents and guests from across southeast Michigan braved a Michigan winter's night to celebrate the work of the clinic and to reach out to the poor and underserved while raising more than $54,000 in support of the clinic's mission.

Below: As the number of St. Clair County residents seeking care continues to rise, the tenth annual Vineyards of the World wine tasting event was even more important in support of the Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health. The annual event, sponsored by Wright & Filippis and the St. Joseph Mercy Foundation offers the opportunity for businesses, organizations and community members to come together to support the work of the clinic which provides free medical care to those in our community who are uninsured and lack the resources to pay for their care. From left to right: Bassam Nasr, MD, and Marcelle Nasr, join Zubeda Patel, and Anil Patel, MD, to share a moment together during the event. Peoples’ Clinic is the centerpiece of St. Joseph Mercy’s mission to provide care to the poor and underserved.
