ST. JOSEPH MERCY INVITES LOCAL ARTISTS TO PARTICIPATE IN PRESCRIPTION: ART
Port Huron, MI… Tapping into the wealth of artistic talent in the Thumb area, St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron (SJMPH) has launched “Prescription: Art”, an endeavor to enhance the artwork in the hospital and create a welcoming, comforting and attractive environment for patients, guests and staff.
“Prescription: Art” is dedicated to the concept that art can play an important role in the healing process as well as offer a source of great comfort and joy. SJMPH is seeking artists willing to donate artwork to be put on display at defined locations throughout the hospital. Donated, unframed artwork should be original with artist signature and should include two dimensional media: photography and reliefs.
Submitted artwork will be reviewed by a volunteer committee. Those pieces selected will be put on display. Prints of selected art will also be available for purchase in the hospital’s gift shop. A portion of the art sale proceeds will be used to support St Joseph Mercy Hospital. The artwork donation is a tax-deductible gift; value will be provided by an independent appraiser.
