SJMPH Announces New Marketing and Foundation Director

New Director of Marketing and Community Relations Announced St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron selects Laura Cottengim to lead marketing, community relations, foundation and advocacy efforts
Port Huron, MI – (DATE) - St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron (SJMPH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Cottengim as the new director of Marketing/Community Relations/Foundation/Advocacy. Cottengim will join the organization on July 16, 2014.
Prior to joining SJMPH, Cottengim served as Vice President of Business Development and Chief Development Officer for Visiting Nurse Association and Blue Water Hospice. She was responsible for the agency's referral-admission cycle, business development as well as annual marketing and fund development strategies and initiatives. Her past position allowed her to gain knowledge and expertise of gift stewardship which will be carried over to her duties at SJMPH.

Cottengim earned her Bachelor's degree in Arts & Science with a focus in communication from Saginaw Valley State University and a Master of Business Administration with a focus in marketing and finance from Saginaw Valley State University. Additionally, Cottengim holds a certification in Managing the Capital Campaign from IUPUI School of Fundraising. She is a member of the Visiting Nurse Association of America, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and Strategic Healthcare Performance.
Cottengim succeeds Stephanie Armstrong-Helton who moved to the position of manager, Grass Roots Communications, Advocacy Services with CHE Trinity Health System.
