What if you could monitor your breast health more accurately and determine if you are at a higher risk for breast cancer?
St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron (SJMPH) and its Mercy Women's Health Center now offer an advanced continuum of care in breast health services with MammoPlus™, RiskPlus™ and RapidResults™ to keep you healthy for years to come. These services are all a part of the Comprehensive Breast Center, now open at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron.
What is a Comprehensive Breast Center?
A Comprehensive Breast Center (CBC) offers the latest breast health technology and services, from screening and diagnostics, through a variety of treatment options and survivorship support. SJMPH recently went through a rigorous process to become an American College of Radiology (ACR) Breast Center of Excellence, bringing expert care in two locations: St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and Mercy Health Center in Fort Gratiot.
Three Key Components of the Comprehensive Breast Center Include:
MammoPlus™ provides a digital screening mammography PLUS a lifetime risk assessment for breast cancer. Each patient is offered the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Breast Cancer Risk Assessment as part of their standard mammography appointment. This tool helps gather information and assists in determining if a patient may be at increased risk for developing breast cancer within the next five years or throughout her lifetime.
RiskPlus™ is a specifically designed program for patients at increased risk for developing breast cancer. This prevention and monitoring program introduces Risk Analysis to women at high risk. This analysis covers more than 70 data points, allowing for deep examination of genetic, familial and personal breast risk, based on national intervention guidelines. Women using the RiskPlus™ service will work with the program's high risk clinical professional. Through RiskPlus™ SJMPH is able to provide intervention recommendations and respond faster and provide more in-depth care in an effort to detect breast cancer at its earliest stages.
Finding a breast lump can be an alarming experience. That is why prompt evaluation of any breast concern is critical to early detection of breast cancer. RapidResults™ provides same day access to all appropriate diagnostic services.
Comprehensive Breast Centers are now available across southeast Michigan through the Saint Joseph Mercy Health System. Designed to offer the latest breast health technology and services, SJMPH is working with the Mercy Cancer Network to provide these services and support to women in our community.
