Information, Referral and Scheduling
The Inpatient Psychiatric Program is a locked, secure unit that admits patients 18 years of age through older adult. Both voluntary and involuntary patients are accepted who primarily reside in the Washtenaw and Livingston counties and surrounding southeast Michigan areas. All major mental illnesses are treated including:
- Severe mood swings
- Suicidal thoughts or attempts
- Hostile and/or violent thoughts

Services and Staff
Services are provided to any patient experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis. Patients admitted to the inpatient unit meet the following general criteria: the presence of a life threatening and/or severely incapacitating symptoms or a high probability for the impending development of such symptoms; potential of harm to self or others.
Staff are experienced, dedicated mental health professionals who are committed to providing a healthy, safe and therapeutic environment for all patients. The treatment team consists of an attending psychiatrist, registered nurse, social work, recreational and/or occupational therapists, and patient care technicians.
Admissions occur 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and there are visitor guidelines and hours that must be followed. Please check our list of frequently asked questions about our program.
