Stacy O'Dowd

Stacy O'Dowd, MD

Program Director

Dr. O’Dowd received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with Highest Honors from Madonna University. Following graduation, she completed an externship at William Beaumont School of Medical Technology and was employed as a clinical microbiologist for 5 years before attending medical school. She graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed a Family Medicine residency at Providence Hospital.

Dr. O’Dowd has been in private practice for 16 years. She held the position of Medical Director for the Infinity Primary Care Laboratory for several years. She became a faculty preceptor at St. Mary Mercy’s Family Medicine Residency in 2012 and completed a fellowship through the National Institute of Program Director Development (NIPDD) in 2013. She became the Associate Program Director for the program in 2014 and recently became the Program Director in mid 2015.

As a Family Medicine physician she provides care to a wide range of patients and manages their acute and chronic health problems. She enjoys spending time with her family and making jewelry from polymer clay.

Dr. Vettraino

Anthony N. Vettraino Jr., MD

Faculty and Site Director – Livonia Family Practice

Dr. Vettraino received a Bachelor Degree in Zoology from the University of Michigan. He attended medical school and graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Providence Hospital where he was elected as chief resident during his final year of residency. He initially began his career in private practice in which during this time he was voluntary faculty at numerous local family medicine residencies. After eight years of private practice, he became full-time Family Medicine Faculty. Dr. Vettraino has served as Associate Program Director and Program Director for over 20 years at local residency institutions. He has a special interest in the care of older patients and holds a certificate of added qualifications in Geriatrics. Additionally Dr. Vettraino has interests in computers and modern technology in Medicine in which he has served as a consultant for a medical information technology company. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Michigan State Medical Society and the American Geriatrics Society.
