Sandy Stanis, RN, Program Director
Sandy Stanis first joined St. Mary Mercy Hospital in 1982. She has worked in several different clinical areas and in 2007 became the Program Director for the Center for Joint Replacement. She was instrumental in the development and opening of the program and continues to provide a hands-on approach to each surgical patient. Sandy is dedicated to facilitating every aspect of the patient's surgical experience with a focus on patient satisfaction. In December 2010, Sandy became a patient herself, having a hip replacement through the Center for Joint Replacement program. This experience provided her with a personal understanding of what a patient requiring joint replacement experiences.
Following a patient's surgery, Sandy manages an innovative rehabilitation program that provides patients the opportunity to work in a team-like atmosphere. The program was recently awarded the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement based on criteria obtained from patient outcomes.
