Cardiac electrophysiology (EP) is the division of cardiology that evaluates, diagnoses and manages heart rhythm disturbances. The Michigan Heart EP team is comprised of board-certified cardiac electrophysiologists, arrhythmia nurse practitioners, device nurse specialists and technologists completely dedicated to the care of patients with arrhythmias or implanted devices.

Our History
The EP program at Michigan Heart was founded in 1985. The program has grown tremendously, paralleling the evolution of the sub-specialty. Our six electrophysiologists combine to represent over 60 years of accumulated experience in the field. Each of the nurse practitioners evaluates and supports this often complex group of patients.

We are especially proud of our Arrhythmia Center, one of the largest in the country. We are considered a model of exemplary care for patients with implanted devices, both regionally and nationally.

Research and Clinical Trials
Leading-edge research is fundamental in our approach to delivering the best treatment and device options for our patients. We participate in clinical trials involving medications and interventions for arrhythmia management.

The Patient Experience
Our patients receive state-of-the-art medical care that is compassionate and personal. We have created an atmosphere that is respectful and friendly for both the patient and their family, and we strive to care for the whole person, both body and mind.
