About Our Services
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory:
St. Mary Mercy Hospital is the first hospital in Southeast
Michigan to provide Primary Percutaneous Coronary
Intervention (PPCI) as a non-open heart facility.
Our interventional cardiologists were named among the
Top 100 doctors by Hour Detroit Magazine and individually
perform more than 1,000 procedures per year.
Our PPCI program offers emergency angioplasty 24/7
with strong performance in patient safety and outcomes.
We participate in the ACC National Data Registry and
the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan Cardiovascular
Consortium (BMC2) data registry and benchmark to the
ACC door-to-balloon time guidelines.
Technology:
Our state-of-the-art interventional labs are
equipped with Siemens Axiom Artis-DFC and the Leonardo
3-D imaging systems. The systems provide excellent resolution
digital imaging with the technical capability of subtraction,
magnification, road mapping and orthogonal angulations and
3-D reconstruction of images.
A GE physiologic monitoring system monitors pre- and post-procedure patients in the 12-bed recovery area.
The system includes full disclosure digital recording with central and hemodynamic and cardiac rhythm
monitoring. Full physiologic monitoring is achieved through the WITT Hemodynamic System.
The McKesson Horizon Cardiology CPACS system supports imaging, reporting and record archival functions.
Electrophysiology:
St. Mary Mercy’s Heart & Vascular Center also boasts a
full-service electrophysiology program including diagnostic EP,
cardiac rhythm management and device implant services, including
biventricular and ICD therapy with medical leadership by
board-certified electrophysiologists.
Diagnostic cardiac caths and a variety of non-catheterization
procedures such as tilt table tests, DC cardioversions and
pericardiocentesis procedures are performed.
Endovascular Services:
Our approach to peripheral vascular disease offers the latest in
endovascular treatment options. An integrated multidisciplinary
approach ensures the highest level of patient care. Cooperative
and coordinated care by a team of interventional radiologists,
interventional cardiologists and vascular surgeons experienced
in endovascular techniques provides unprecedented therapeutic
interventions in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease.
Interventional Radiology

Stress Labs
Three stress labs support services for inpatients, outpatients and the Chest Pain Evaluation Unit.
All stress tests are supervised by cardiologists.
Patient safety is our priority, and all stress lab personnel are ACLS. Tests are administered by ACSM exercise physiologists and cardiac nurses. Registered nuclear technologists administer and monitor the nuclear phase.
All labs utilize 2007 GE CASE systems with digital interface to the MUSE cardiology computer system and Cerner (PowerChart) medical record.
