Our skilled team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), professional nurses, registered nurse first assistants (RNFAs) and other health care professionals utilize state-of-the-art equipment to provide a wide range of both inpatient and out-patient surgery. Eight operating rooms and two cystoscopy rooms provide a complete environment for our surgical team to provide the highest quality of care.
Pre-Anesthesia Testing
Preanesthesia testing is provided to patients prior to their day of surgery. Patient and/or family education is provided to patients undergoing a procedure or surgery.
Inpatient Surgery
Inpatient surgical procedures include total joint, hip and knee replacement, neurosurgery, gall bladder, including laparoscopic gall bladder surgery, hysterectomy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, vascular procedures, laser surgery, including laser transurethral prostatectomy (TURP), thorascopy, and laparoscopic surgery to name a few. These procedures are handled by highly trained surgeons, offering patients the most advanced, competent care.
Outpatient (Ambulatory) Surgery
Ambulatory surgery, a one-day surgery designed for non-emergency surgical procedures, allows the patient to return home the same day as surgery, saving the time and expense of an overnight hospital stay.
St. Mary Mercy’s ambulatory surgery unit includes a special procedures room, a preoperative/postoperative holding area and a comfortable lounge for family and visitors.
Among the procedures performed are cataract removal with lens implants, tonsillectomies, D&C, uterine ablation, cystoscopy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, gastroscopy, colonoscopy and bronchoscopy.
Unlike many ambulatory surgery programs available in free-standing facilities, a hospital unit benefits you and your family should the need arise for additional support.
