Patients who are in need of a vestibular evaluation undergo a comprehensive evaluation that includes assessment of balance, strength, mobility, dizziness and changes in function. Activities are performed to identify components of the dizziness, which might identify Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). If identified, treatment is performed to resolve symptoms. If other types of dizziness are identified, a plan of care is then developed to include vestibular rehabilitation techniques including but not limited to gaze stability, habituation, adaptation and substitution to reduce and resolve symptoms and increase quality of function.
